BACKGROUND & OVERSEAS TRAINING.

Azar Anwar is a popular Kenyan Rally Driver with a vast international motorsport experience both in driving and technicla fields over 30 years. Azar's welcoming and helpful nature and has helped nurture and develop top driving and technical rally talent in the region. Having been in the sport so long Azar strongly promotes SAFETY, FAIR PLAY, DRIVING SKILL, and a Finese that has seen him been crowned Champion many times and winning the famous Safari Rally.

Azar has also gained International Rally Aclaim from all aspects of Motorsports Industry. In 1995 , Azar put the humble Daewoo Cielo [Nexia] on the international Rally map. Starting with a normally aspirated 1.5 litre car with only 80 Bhp and converting it the FIRST - FIA group N homologated DAEWOO in the world, Azar won the 1995 Safari Rally [then a round of the two litre world cup] and the Cielo was airlifted to various Motor Shows , Museums and Foreign Rally Events , courtesy of Daewoo He is credited with Changing the 5 speed Gearbox into 6 Speed Crash Box. He even fine tuned the Engine that was originally from an Opel Kadet and fitted in the Cielo.

With this , the humble Cielo became a beastly machine that was not only quite fast but also gave out an incredible 230 bhp.This amount of power and it's light body, made the Cielo a Formula 2 Champion on several occassions, and incredibly winning the Castrol Rally of South Africa giving Daewoo a fairy tale launch into the market.

Azar's reputation spread to Eurpoe with an invitation in 1999 to build the new model Daewoo Lanos into a Group A rally car for Portugal. Developing a six speed crash gearbox, disc brakes all round, adjustable tarmac and gravel suspension etc. and homologating with FIA, Azar ran into engine trouble which was overcome by homologating a KIT engine with special exhaust. The car then finished an incredible second in the Portugal 2WD championship against established European giants.
